Reading can open up a whole new world...it can take you to far away places, let you explore new friendships, meet new people, explore the world, go back in time, head to the future, anywhere you want to go! Not only are there great books, but there are poems to express feelings, song lyrics, magazines and newspapers to get information, even the Internet!
In reading class, you will explore all of these! You will learn about the parts of stories, elements of poetry, and how to read for information.
We will be exploring new authors and genres in the "Harcourt Trophies" reading curriculum. We will also be reading the newspaper, Reader's Theatre, plays, and various literature books.
